Today was the longest day ever...

so we had to be at school at 6 am for the rodeo parade (which didn't start till 10 and we were in the 2nd half of it). It sucked. i hate parades. then, KKY planned to clean out the fraternity room, so i was at school until like 8 pm. I feel so exhausted. I just dropped matt and steve off at the rodeo parade so i have to stay up to go pick them up. it looked like fun, too bad im way to worn out to go.
Well, it's 3:50 am. I'm just waiting till I have to be at UH at 6 am for the damn Rodeo parade. This is actually gonna be my first time to be in the parade because the last 2 years ive had other stuff to do...like to go mardi gras. Today sucked. I really think I have a sleeping problem. I can never sleep at night, and it kills me the next day. Today, i had a conducting test at 8, i only got like 2 hours of sleep. I got to school at like 8:10, and decided it would be a good idea to close my eyes a few minutes in my car...yea..that never works. I woke up at 8:30 and ran inside and took my test. I went to my 9:00 mr. bennett class, then decided to skip music history and astronomy and sleep in my car so i would be okay for wind ensemble...yea...i slept till 12:30 and then decided i still felt really bad so i went home and slept. and i have the best boyfriend ever, even though i was being a bitch to him this morning when i was at school, he picked up chili's for me and brought it to me while i was sleeping :) i love that boy, then we slept pretty much until like 12:30 am, and he went home. So, nothing really interesting happened today, cause i wasnt even awake for most of it.

So, today was a little better...
Arranging cracks me up, that lady is crazy. But shes really cool though, I still havent turned in my homework from thursday and shes just like whatever, just get it in my box sometime. Today was kinda cool though, I got elected to be the next President of the Beta Pi Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota :) so I'm happy about that and really looking forward to next year. I just can't wait for this semester to be over. I'm never taking 21 hours again. I'm retarded. So the SAI benefit concert is this sunday at 7:30, and all who read this should come :)

What a great day to start....

So, me and Daniel were in the KKY office tonight, and we were looking through all the old scrapbooks. I just happened to see the copies of the newsletter for KKY and TBS, and I decided to flip through it. I got excited because I saw one of my friends from highschool in a picture for an article. It reads:

On Thursday, December 19, 2002, sophomore music education major and Kappa Kappa Psi member, O.J. Garcia was fatally injured in a car accident near Menard, texas. Brother Garcia had finished playing in the Court Jesters basketball band for the 6:00 pm game on Wednesday night when he decided to drive to San Antonio. He had planned to meet the marching band charter airplane on Thursday afternoon for the trip to the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando, Florida. The charter picked up students in Lubbock, Dallas and San Antonio. O.J. had planned to leave his car in San Antonio where he could drive to Houston upon his return from Orlando to spend the holidays with his family. O.J. was a popular member of the Texas Tech University School of Music. He was first chair tuba in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, a member of the marching band, the basketball band, Kappa Kappa Psi, Raider Recruiters, the Honors College and worked in the Residence Halls. ....... Mr. Bearden, director of the "Goin Band" remembers O.J. Garcia: "He was a dedicated brother to Alpha Omicron, a person who was committed to his friends, and an outstanding musician. He will be greatly missed in our band program. He was a model students, good grades, never absent, never late always prepared and had a great attitude. He would've been the perfect band director. he cared for others and wanted others to succeed. We could always count on his encouraging smile and his big bear hugs in the hallways. His memory will live on in the lives of out students and our faculty."

I haven't lost a friend in a while. The last time I talked to OJ was probably my freshman year in college. I wish I would have kept in touch with him more. I wish I could keep in touch with everyone. I can't believe I found this out just by chance. i dunno, just makes you kinda realize how important friends are in your life. i don't know what i would do if i didnt have the great friends i have, old and new. you guys are awesome, i know i dont tell some of you enough. dont let petty fights ruin friendships, and give people a chance, they might be the best friend you never had. i know its been a while since he's been gone, but keep his family in your thoughts.

don't pass up a chance to tell someone how great they are...because you may never get a chance to again...
